#71 Our recognition of the value of the world’s forests increases all the time. Providing habitats, soil renewal, water recycling, carbon sinks, building materials and food, forests are incredibly valuable. So we need to take good care of them, yet sadly we’re losing 50 football fields worth of trees every minute.

Along with 40 international partners the World Resources Institute has recently launched an internet-based information service called Global Forest Watch to enable all of us to keep watch over the world’s forests.
